A Colourful Wildflower Wedding at The Brighthouse Farm

Abigail and Curtis’ summer wedding at The Brighthouse Farm in Prince Edward County was joyful, playful and full of movement. For the floral design, we leaned into locally grown seasonal flowers, whimsical colour and an intentionally gathered garden style that felt completely at home against the venue’s fields, restored barn and relaxed countryside setting.
Abigail works in the wedding industry herself, so she came to us with a strong creative point of view. Our role was to translate that vision into wedding flowers that felt natural, colourful and abundant without becoming overly structured.
The Floral Design
The flowers were designed to feel as though they had been gathered straight from a summer garden. Seasonal local blooms brought softness, movement and unexpected colour through the bouquets, reception tables and floral details throughout the celebration.
Rather than creating perfectly symmetrical arrangements, we used varied heights, airy stems and natural forms to give the flowers a more whimsical, contemporary feel.

A summer wedding in Prince Edward County is the perfect setting for seasonal Ontario flowers. Working with locally grown blooms gave us access to varieties with beautiful movement, texture and character while allowing the floral design to feel connected to the landscape and time of year.
We use local and seasonal wedding flowers whenever they suit the design, not simply because they are sustainable, but because they often create the kind of natural, less-formulaic floral compositions we love.
